They say ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and now, more than ever, that village has to be a global one.
I’ve chosen to support this amazing South African project, who provide support to promising students to gain entry into the executive assistant profession. They support them financially, they help organise appropriate college courses, mentors, equipment and even attendance at leading training events.
I’ve been lucky enough to get to know several of the people involved in this driven and successful initiative. I spoke at a training event in Johannesburg in March 2020, just before we went into lockdown. It was the first time I met some of the students and it was wonderful to hear their personal journeys and how the bursary is changing their paths.
I’m committing to giving 20% from my online training Masterclasses and Workshops this year (July 2020 to July 2021) as a way of contributing to the continued support needed. There is such terrible unemployment in South Africa as I write this, and that is only a tiny part of the challenges these young people face.
This wonderful, short film gives you some idea of the importance and impact this small charity is making. Please, help me to help them and show them they’re not alone in their challenge.
